No-gifts birthday invitation wording
Want fewer toys after the party? Here are kind ways to say “no gifts” on a kids’ birthday invitation that won’t sound strict.
Simple and warm
Your presence is the only present we need!
No gifts, please. Just bring your smiles and your dancing shoes.
Mia has everything she needs, except you! Please, no gifts.
With a reason
We’re keeping things simple this year, so please skip the gifts. Mia would love a handmade card instead!
In place of gifts, Mia is collecting books to donate to our school library. Bringing one is completely optional.
Suggesting something small instead
No gifts, please! If you’d like to bring something, Mia would love a book you enjoyed at her age.
Instead of a gift, a gift card is perfect, and totally optional. Mia is saving up for a new bike!
Tips
- Put it near the bottom, after the date and place, in a friendly tone.
- Say it once. Repeating “no gifts” can sound stern.
- Some guests will bring something anyway. Thank them warmly and open gifts after the party.
- For a fiver party or a book swap, explain the idea in one line so guests know what to do.
